Launch of the Artist's Book "Thilo Westermann Vanitas" at the Neues Museum Nuremberg
On April 21, 2015, the Neues Museum Nuremberg will host a special event in its Lower Foyer to celebrate the release of the artist’s book Thilo Westermann Vanitas. The publication is a collaborative project between Thilo Westermann, the Institut für Moderne Kunst, and the Oechsner Galerie. It is now available internationally through the Verlag für moderne Kunst (VfmK), Vienna.
The event at the Neues Museum will take place under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Julia Lehner, Head of the Department of Arts and Culture of the City of Nuremberg. Guests will be welcomed by Dr. Eva Kraus, Director of the Neues Museum, and introduced to Westermann’s œuvre by philosopher and writer Dr. Björn Vetter.
To offer a glimpse into the body of work featured in the book, selected pages have been printed on transparent film, transforming the museum’s stairwell and Lower Foyer lighting fixtures into illuminated display cases. The book launch will be complemented by a presentation of selected pieces from the ESCADA MEETS THILO WESTERMANN collection.
